The Apple battery cutoff display has only one more week running
If you want to take advantage of Apple's deal on an alternative battery for your iPhone, it's best to speed up.
There is only one week left to run.
The company, based in Cupertino, California, reduced the cost of replacing the iPhone battery after it admitted last year that it had deliberately slowed down some of its phones to stabilize performance as the battery approached.
This means that as of January 1, it will cost a battery replacement for iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and iPhone X $ 69. For all other eligible iPhones, including iPhone SE and iPhone 6 and above, fees will increase from $ 29 to $ 49.
Before Apple cuts the cost of replacing a battery, it costs one new $ 79.
To find out if your iPhone needs a new battery, open the Battery Health tool in your phone's settings.
As the name suggests, Battery Health tells you the battery status.
The feature also allows you to disable the Apple Performance Management System, but if you do, your iPhone may sometimes shut down without warning, depending on the battery status.
Apple recommends replacing the iPhone battery as low as 80%.
If your iPhone is in warranty or part of AppleCare +, your iPhone battery can be replaced free of charge.
If you are not sure about AppleCare + cover coverage, enter the iPhone serial number on this Apple Web page to find out.
You can make a replacement at the Apple Store - you may have to book in advance - or at an approved service site.
You can also send your phone to an Apple repair center.
Full details are available on the company's support website.
Many owners of iPhones were surprised as they felt that Apple had failed in that it was slowing down some phones when the practice began with the software update of 2016.
Some have argued that Apple's actions were a deliberate step to thwart slow-moving mobile owners to encourage them to upgrade to a newer iPhone, a strategy known as planned obsolescence.
But the technical giant has always insisted that his actions were aimed at helping users by reducing the sudden closures caused by batteries that were once their best.
In an attempt to settle the dispute, Apple agreed to reduce the cost of replacing the batteries for the entire 2018.
