Telecom Company to Launch 1 Million Hot Wifi Points

The initiative announced at the opening session of the 2018 India Mobile Phone Conference (IMC) will allow consumers to access Wi-Fi hotspots for any network operator.
The Indian telecommunications industry will launch one million hot spots in the country by December next year, Communications Minister Manoj Sinha said on Thursday.
"Bharat Wi-Fi, a nationwide cross-country platform of one million hot Wi-Fi points, owned and operated by telecom service providers, ISPs and virtual network operators across the country, will be deployed," an official statement said.

The DoT has also issued the National Frequency Distribution Plan (NFAP) 201, which provides a roadmap for India's digital communications industry.
