The best top 10 Chinese phones that you can not buy in the United States
The US smartphone market is increasingly boring.
You have Apple and Samsung at the top, LG in the far third, then Motorola, and sometimes the wildcard option, like Google and OnePlus, is collectively less than 10 percent.
If this is all you see when you go to a phone store, you may be forgiven for losing your interest in the phones altogether.
With the World Mobile Congress this year, there are a lot of interesting things happening outside the United States - many coming from China.
2018 was the year when Chinese industrial companies claimed to produce the world's most exciting and exciting telephone devices, with wild designs like Oppo and Vivo.
Others are competing for different terms, making phones of amazing quality at prices that American buyers can not dream of.
But for a long and complex list, hardly any Chinese phones are sold for sale in the United States other than those from OnePlus, a company that shows its main designs on OPPO phones several months ago.
While it is technically possible to import Chinese phones, we highly recommend them only if you are confident that you will not experience any problems with unknown software or LTE networks.
If you're interested, however, here's what you're missing now in the United States.
1 - XIAOMI MI 9
Mi Xiaomi's leading series tends to combine advanced specifications, traditional design and low prices, and this is certainly the case with the latest entry.
The Mi 9 has a 6.4-inch OLED display, a Snapdragon 855 processor, up to 12 GB of RAM, fingerprint scanner, and a triple camera system with three separate focal lengths.
There are not many advantages around the same Mi 9 device unless you care about wireless charging speed, but Xiaomi's ability to price random storage capacity of 6 GB / 128 GB for 2,999 yuan (about $ 450) still represents the company's main advantage.
The Mi 9 makes the OnePlus, phones even look questionable, regardless of Samsung, Apple.
2 - XIAOMI MI MIX 3
Mi Mix is a higher end line for the XIAOMI, and since the original model has always been about maximizing edge-free design - cracks are not allowed.
This tradition continues with Mi-Mix 3, which uses a magnetic scrolling mechanism to lift a silve camera from behind the uninterrupted screen.
There are certainly tradeoffs with this approach. MyMix 3 is thicker than you would expect for a phone with a 3200 mAh battery, and it is not always easy to operate this mechanism with one hand.
You'll also have to wait until May for a 5G version if you want a larger battery and a Snappragone 855 this year, and who knows how it will look.
But at a starting price of 3,299 yuan (about $ 475) for a 6 GB / 128GB model, the Mei Mix 3 is still at least a convincing proposition of value as a number 9.
Especially if you carry a personal vendetta against the cracks.
You can not ignore Huawei's political pressure in the United States, but the simple fact is that the Mate 20 Pro is a big deal everywhere else.
The latest Huawei phones are a superb phone with the stunning 980 SoC SoC, powerful tri-camera setup, and an excellent curved OLED display, both a 3-D face scan and a fingerprint sensor, and a huge battery that delivers leading in its class. Endurance.
If hardware is everything, the Mate 20 will have a very strong claim to be the best phone in the world.
Unfortunately, this is not the case, Huawei 's EMUI program remains one of the least elegant examples of the heavy Chinese robot' s skin.
MIUI Xiaomi blowing far away in terms of usability. If you can get the program and the price is £ 899 (~ $ 1200), this phone will be a serious competitor.
4 - HONOR VIEW 20
The latest brand of Huawei brand with the honorary mark has the same drawback in EMUI, but no one can complain about the price. Launched 20 months ago, it has the same Kirin 980 chip as the Mate 20 Pro, as well as two first smartphones: a perforated LCD screen and a superb 48 megapixel camera.
You can also get a large 4000mAh battery and even a headphone jack.
All this comes at a price of £ 499 (about $ 650) and there is very little to indicate the 20 display which makes it less than the leading class.
Sure, the Mate 20 Pro has a wireless charger, a better camera and an OLED display, but the 20 will be a great device at any price - let alone reasonable. It's also the only phone on this list that will eventually get a US version, although we'll see how it appears.
5 - Vivo V15 PRO
The V15 Pro is the flagship of Vivo, which has been announced recently, bringing some of the company's high-end features last year to a more accessible device.
There is a 32-megapixel pop-up personal image camera, a sensor speed in fingerprint display, a 48-megapixel home camera, and-of course - an OLED screen with no first-class and hardly any edges.
This is also the first phone that uses the Snapdragon 675 new mid-to-end processor from Qualcomm, and the performance has been great in my experience.
At about $ 400, this is a very convincing mid-range device if you can handle the Micro USB port and lack of wireless charging.
6 - Vivo Nex
If you prefer to design a smaller self-portrait camera on the OPO and more detailed Xiaomi mechanisms, the top option is the original Nex.
Vivo Nex contains a Snapdragon 845, a 4000mAh battery, a giant notchless 6.6-inch screen, and both a USB-C * and a jack * headphone.
The subsequent Vivo phones have been optimized for the entire screen in different ways, with improved fingerprint sensors within display, better quality personal photo cameras, and more suitable screen sizes.
But as one of the most disconnected phones and full of features ever created, the original Nex still issues a statement - an iridescent pattern of dots and everything.
7 - VIVO NEX DUAL DISPLAY EDITION
Nex Dual Display Edition, on the other hand, makes the original Nex look positively constrained.
Fix it for a problem Place a silvery camera on a phone without a frame is ... you do not have one at all. Vivo just stuck another screen on the back so you can use it as a camera lens when the regular camera is pointing to you.
The camera is also surrounded by a colorful "Lunar Ring" that lights up on the second screen.
This works mostly well, apart from several times a day, you'll find yourself pulling the phone out of your pocket and staring at a blank screen because the "switch switch" and "wake" buttons are switching functions based on routing phones but can not be distinguished by feeling .
But if you want the best Silve phone in the world and do not mind it may be the most fragile phone in the world - at least until you fold up - it might be right for you.
8 - OPPO FIND X
Although the best part of last year was announced, Oppo Find X is still the most controversial on the Android phone.
With its full curved screen and a unique sliding-motor design. The full top panel of the phone is revealed to reveal the tri-face scanner and the silvery camera, making it the most convincing attempt yet to achieve the full screen dream.
Later, Obo released the Xplore Lamborghini, which retains the same basic specifications, but packs some recoilable wireless earphones, and offers one fantastic, legitimate feature.
Super VOOC uses a dual-cell design that allows you to switch from 0 to 100 percent in just 35 minutes - an incredibly fast time for a 3400 mAh battery. The search for X may still be using the Snapdragon 845, but it still seems sophisticated.
9 - OPPO F11 PRO
Obo announced the F11 Pro this week, which is similar to the Vivo Pro V15 Pro: a 48-megapixel camera, self-portrait camera, headphone jack, Micro USB.
It may also be my favorite color scheme since China decided a year ago that all phones should look like this.
The F11 Pro is a lower limit than the V15 Pro, although: there is no fingerprint sensor, a 16 megapixel camera, and the MediaTek Helio P70 processor.
This is reflected in the low price of approximately $ 350, which means that it still offers very high value to anyone who does not need the highest specifications.
10 - REALME 3
There are already countless Chinese phones with a limited budget that I can mention here for exactly the same reasons - this Realme 3 is the latest example.
Realme is a brand focused on India from outside of Oppo, and makes its products of "the best cheap phones you can buy" from the United States last year look somewhat embarrassing.
Sure, if you have $ 180 in the United States, you can get the LG K30 with chunky edges, a 5.3-inch LCD screen, a 2,800 mAh battery, 32 GB of storage memory and 2 GB of RAM.
On the other hand, Realme 3 customers in India receive a 6.4-inch LCD screen with a small screen, a 4,230mAh battery, 32 GB of storage memory and 3 GB of RAM for about $ 125.
It's only $ 30 extra for 4 GB RAM and doubles your storage to 64 GB.
Although the K30 at least has USB-C.
