With this wide range of titles available, it turns out that the best Apple Arcade games to download and play first are easier than doing.

To be honest, it's a bit overwhelming.
The variety of games offered by Apple Arcade is surprisingly wide.

There are games from popular studios like Capybara (below), Ustwo (Monument Valley), and Simogo (Year Walk), as well as a host of new titles from a variety of ambitious teams looking to achieve a mark.

I've spent two days with Apple Arcade and here are my recommendations for the best Apple Arcade games to download and play first. Of course, part of the fun with Apple Arcade is that with such an enormous selection of games available, it's helpful to take a dive into the Apple Arcade games list yourself and see if there's anything that grabs your attention.

Carefully assemble

Assemble With Care is a simplified poetic puzzle game from Ustwo, the studio that brought you the Monument Valley, with a story that explores the idea that the only way to bring something together is to unite it first.

By recovering 12 objects, Assemble With Care reveals itself to be a tactile and tactile experience, using light puzzles as a way to draw you into broader thinking about fixing fractures in fault lines in family relationships.

Ustwo's artwork is superb painter, soundtrack and soothing voice acting, and the presentation - blurring the lines between audiobooks and interactive entertainment - is great and the location is perfect for mobile.

grindstone

It's easy to forget, but before Capybara Games helped change the nature of mobile adventure games with Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP in 2011, the studio was known for developing puzzle games. In many ways, then, Grindstone - a cleverly designed and expertly executed game of puzzles battles with the sword - sees Capy's return to its roots.

It's bright, colorful and hard to get away from, which is exactly what you want from a game like this.

Grindstone also comes complete with an easy-to-use drafting system, an exhilarating structure, and more than 150 levels designed to test your ability to unleash monster groups and crash during increasingly challenging stages. Grindstone is designed for commuting, but it will draw your attention whenever you find yourself with a few stops.

Jenny LeClue

Allows CSI: Cuteness. Don't be fooled by the great visual style of this adventurous game, it's full of mystery and mechanics that are worth the price of accepting Apple Arcade all by themselves.

Miss LeClue is a little girl with a taste for investigation, meaning a combination of crime scene research, interviewing suspects and witnesses - using Sherlock Holmes debriefing - and making discounts.

A warm world of the game is full of interesting characters, such as the CJ plot, and there is a humorous knowledge of everything that will remind you of the great adventure games of yore like The Curse of Monkey Island.

Small highways

Miniature highways are essentially perfect.
The same can be said of its predecessor Mini Metro, the game that featured developer Dinosaur Polo Club as presentation professors. The hypothesis of miniature highways is as simple as mechanical execution.

It is a game about drawing roads that can help drive the expansion of a growing city. You start by creating a small network of roads, which will quickly flourish into a noisy capital built on stress and blinking symbols. This is the genius of mini highways.

It's a beautiful Zen game to play - it's easy to lose too, to calm down - but it quickly becomes a complex network to meet the changing needs of its car-connected population. If my manager does not make me write this list, then I am

Sayonara Wild Hearts

Simogo has made a name for itself as one of the most ambitious and innovative mobile developers, thanks to its work on titles such as Year Walk, Device 6 and SPL-T.

Unsurprisingly, the studio is back and better than ever. Sayonara Wild Hearts is an interactive music video, a vibrant trance of high-octane racing and dance movement.

She is overtly elegant in her design and amazing in her drama execution - breaking your heart at 100 mph. This is a game, frankly, out of this world. Sayonara is the type of game you will be able to get through on both ends of your commute, but you can go back to playing day by day.

The self-described "pop album video game" is available on a variety of platforms, but it feels just like on an iPhone.

Where the cards fall

The Odyssey developer from Snowman offers a powerful introduction to Apple Arcade with his most ambitious title to date.

Cards Fall is a beautiful exploration of teenagers, all of which are listed through a range of spatial puzzles and quiet memories of a lifetime.

Cards Fall builds paths through dream-like environments with sets of cards; an intuitive and imaginative game, a game that tests your ability to think strategically as much as it can flow using dynamic puzzles.

It is equally comfortable and challenging and is the type of game designed for those times when you just want to turn on your headphones and shut yourself away from the noise of the world for a short time.

overland

A post-apocalyptic road trip from Fengyi, the studio behind the endless runner Canabalt and publisher Knight in the Woods.

Overland is an intrinsically role-based strategy game, where your mission is to ensure that a small group of travelers remain against a host of other threats.

Overland gives you plenty of room to set the parameters of your adventure, giving you the freedom to decide how to follow each disaster scenario you stumble upon.

Leveraging your need to search for supplies and navigate the roads leading to safety, while wanting to save stranded survivors, Overland is a cleverly structured strategy game that you'll find yourself coming back over and over.

Mutazione

I will hit you with the elevator and you have to know right away whether this is for you: Mutazione is a mutant soap opera where the chatter of a small town meets supernatural things, a super-cold game about plant breeding and embarks on spiritual journeys after the end of the world.

Mutazione is an exotic adventure game that is quite different from anything else in the Apple Arcade library. His style is his lush, hand-drawn world full of interesting people who will be desperate to get to know them.

Plant gardens to create comfortable music tracks, and when you're ready, start a story full of twists and turns. Mutazione is quiet, in his own small way.

Cricket through the ages

Cricket Through the Ages is one of the most mysterious games ever presented to Apple Arcade, a historical lesson narrated by the mediator of this sport, so why not? Cricket Through the Ages is best with a friend fighting with you on one screen, where the bats swing and throw balls to make it pass through the tangled history of mankind.

It is a one-button game that finds it fun to take advantage of an off-game physics system, a game that delights you into a host of bizarre situations and increasingly bizarre scenarios.

Throughout the ages, cricket will make you laugh whether you're playing it alone or with a friendly enemy, enjoying its simple ridiculousness.

Dim sword

With exclusive Apple Arcade from Devolver Digital and More8Bit, Bleak Sword will make you wish you wouldn't subscribe to the service in the first place, albeit in a good way.

For those of you who are fans of pushing to the limit by challenge, in fact, Bleak Sword will be a real dream. This thrilling dark fantasy game requires an isometric adventure across a world that feels intent on breaking you and requires perfect pixel accuracy to hit enemies and get out of scratches alive.

Bleak Sword won't be for everyone, but it's worth a try, just to see how successful these types of games are on mobile devices

Oh, and his record composer Jim Guthrie - Come to the soundtrack, kept in the face of the difficult chaos revealed by Bleak Sword to unleash.
