Fortnite Chapter 2 gets some new Australian arts

Fortnite Chapter 2 marks the first time the sprays are designed outside the Epic Games design team

Finally, the mysterious black hole in Fortnite disappeared, revealing the ambitious second chapter of the game, and there are a lot of changes in the game - from water-based mechanics, an entirely new island to be explored and killed, and fighting has generally improved to name a few.

Of the disc - but the addition of one has an Australian flavor for sure.

The game has always included in-game sprays that allow players to make their mark on the world, but Fortnite Chapter 2 marks the first time the sprays are designed outside the Epic Games design team.

In the second chapter, six of the nebulizer were designed by street artist George Rose in Melbourne.

"It's a surreal experience seeing my design at Fortnite," Rose said in a recent release. "It's an honor to be the first Australian artist to work with Fortnite, and it's great to see Epic games support me. It's great for me to be able to share my art with a whole new audience."

Its sprays have a distinct Australian taste, with more than a few references to the local surfing culture and some delicate elements of Antipodan's wildlife and local flora.

Rose murals adorn the walls and buildings throughout Melbourne and painted a two-meter version of its airbrush during an event in Melbourne's SEA LIFE Aquarium as part of the Melbourne International Games Week.

"We wanted the spray to be inspired by Australia, and we knew we needed an Australian artist for authentic design," said Nick Chester, director of public relations and communications at Epic Gym.

"Splashing is one of the many tools for Fortnite players to express themselves in the game. We are excited to see the reaction in Australia and around the world."

Spraying in the game now, ready to open. You can find more of George Rose's excellent work on Instagram.
