These new cameras make the transition to 2K recording quality with HDR, up from 1080p with Pro 2

Each camera also has its own light, which is exactly what you would expect: flood the area In the light. In addition, it allows a colorful night vision - so, in theory, you will be able to produce other colors and details in the middle of the night.

Arlo cameras can identify pets, vehicles, and packages

Apart from the collapse in image quality, some other things have changed. The Pro 3 cameras have a 160 ° field of view, a slight but welcome improvement over the 130 ° field of view in the previous iteration.

Arlo says having conversations with people via the camera will be better now with the Pro 3, thanks to full dual microphones that allow more natural chat back and forth. Also, these cameras will be able to tilt, move and zoom a subject when it detects motion.

Like the Pro 2, the Pro 3 is weather-resistant IP65, and Arlo's IoT ecosystem support still includes Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. These cameras are wire-free and rechargeable and last for up to six months before you need to turn them back on.

Arlo Pro 3 is released this week on Arlo.com and at Best Buy. Arlo says that these cameras will be compatible with pre-existing Arlo Ultra accessories as well as previous base stations.

So if you only want one of these $199.99 segmented cameras, this is available. This price is on par with the cost of the battery-powered Spotlight from Range and Nest Cam IQ Indoor, but the Arlo system requires a base station, and some don't. Still, Arlo offers higher resolution and some features you won't find from Ring or Nest.

The entire system, which includes Smart Hub and two cameras, costs $499. This option will include a three-month free trial of Arlo Smart (usually costs $9.99 per month), a service that maintains a continuous record of recordings.

Its smart service experience includes an e911 feature that allows authorities to locate the camera if you are requesting emergency help from within the Arlo app.
