You don't have to hide under your desk anymore. Google has now silenced all Google Assistant audio outputs and only shows answers to your questions on your phone. Here's how to set it up:

  • You can access your Google Assistant by either long-pressing the Home button or saying "Hello, Google" or "Google OK."
  • Tap the icon in the lower right corner.
  • Tap the character icon in the upper right corner.
  • Choose Settings.
  • Select "Assistant" (at the top line).
  • Scroll down to "Utilities" and look for the word "phone" or the name that you assigned your phone to. Click on it.
  • Scroll down to the "voice and speech" and click on the "speech output."
  • Select "Hands-free only".
