Let's face it, you probably won't be using iMessage on your Android phone any time soon.

But sometimes, you can overcome these limitations.
If you recently got an Apple Watch but want to use it with the Fitbit app, there's a way you can do it, although the ecosystems of both companies don't recognize the existence of either.

It's uncomfortable and complicated, but it succeeds.

In this case, the Strava app acts as a friendly broker.
Everyone is talking to Strava and Strava brings back the favor. So if you want to transfer your Apple data to Fitbit, you should run it via Strava. Here's how to proceed.

First, you must install Strava. If you're already using Strava, or you've read our article on how to sync popular fitness apps to your Apple Watch, go to the next section.

  • Download the Strava app.
  • Create Your Account Strava. The app will invite you immediately to start recording your activity, but instead of rushing to register, click 'Later' so you can set up the app. Here, you'll have the opportunity to follow athletes, connect your Facebook account, and sync your contacts. You can also skip everything.
  • Next, you'll see the Get Started screen, where you can connect your Apple Watch.
  • Click "Connect GPS Clock or PC" and you'll see a long list of supported devices. Press "Apple Watch".
  • Skip the interstitial page, agree to the Code of Conduct, and allow access to health-related data. Press "Finish".

You can now set up your Fitbit app to connect to your Apple Watch through Strava.

  • Log in to your Fitbit application. Click on the target "Account" in the upper left corner of the application. Scroll down to the "Discover" section and click "Compatible apps."
  • Scroll to Strava and press it.
  • Press the "Download" button (although you've already set up Strava). The app store will open on the Strava download page; press "Open", because you have already installed it.
  • Press Fitbit from the list of devices that appears. (Note that the Apple Watch does not appear in the list.) Then press "Connect Fitbit." Enter your Fitbit account information.
