Here's why Call of Duty: Modern Warfare weapons might feel a little different from what you're used to

Infinity Ward discusses typical changes to firearms

In many ways, Activision and Infinity Ward go back to basics with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare restarted.

Bounced characters, classic guns and anything else (or in a lesser way) than the bizarre science fiction of the new age have identified the latest games

But as Infinity Ward explained in a recent blog post, the new Modern Warfare is also making fundamental changes to the way weapons are handled.

"We were a little bit richer with these [weapons]," said Jeff Smith, director of multiplayer design. "We looked forward to knowing what was still logical and pulled out the things we feel didn't work, even if the team was uncomfortable.

Everyone in the team had preconceived notions of a" call of duty "and what we had to destabilize people from that mentality.

One of the first big changes concerned the speed of the bullet. Call of Duty games are very fast, so Infinity Ward didn't want to add a lot of bullets, but for a variety of weapons and a multi-player skill ceiling, Modern Warfare softens the immediate weapon mode of scanning weapons a bit.

David Hodgson of Activision wrote: "In the short and medium-term, and depending on the weapon you launch, expect immediate injury from your weapon ammunition." "A little further away, and you'll need more skill [to lead your shots]."

Some types of long-term weapons also receive some dramatic changes.

SMG, for example, has been high-yield near-range weapons for years, but as Smith noted, "in fact, they are low-caliber weapons and easier to control; they are less damage, they are fairly accurate, so we changed the role of this weapon."

At the same time, some of the customization options included in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Gunsmith weapons system will provide a wide range of ranges.

Smith mocked that "we have a gun you can make by adding a long-range and a sniper rifle, making it a sniper rifle.

Or you can modify the same weapon by removing the barrels and stock, and getting that short nose, a high-speed weapon is quite different from the way you started. "
