What are the most important features MediaTek 5G SOC, When it comes to Mobile Socs, there are only a few players in the market - Qualcomm, MediaTek, Exynos and Hisilicon.
In these four SOC companies, Qualcomm & MediaTek does not belong to any smartphone maker, unlike Samsung's Exynos & Kirin and Huawei, respectively.
Qualcomm has a wide range of South Oil companies ranging from beginner to premium catalog.
MediaTek SOCs generally enable mid-range smartphones. Recently, the Helio P60 & P70 has achieved some great success for the Taiwan chip maker. MediaTek was silent in the privileged part.
After announcing the Helio X30 two years ago, MediaTek never looked to this particular part. The main focus of the company was the mid-range South Oil market.
Qualcomm was not only manufacturing SOC 4G networks, but also coming with the first Chip Snapdragon 855 chip, which is universally supported with the X50 5G Modem.
MediaTek also announced the M70 5G Modem earlier this year, but it was not available at any SOC. MediaTek today announced its 5G chip set at Computex 2019.
MediaTek 5G SOC has been named for some reasons. MediaTek 5G SOC contains the latest CPU, GPU, and obviously the M70 5G Modem. Will run the next 5G smartphones.
MediaTek 5G SOC
Speaking of other 5G solutions, Qualcomm Snapdragon uses 855 different modems to provide multi-mode support.
The Snapdragon X50 5G modem is only capable of running a 5G network and uses an additional X24 LTE modem for second, third and fourth generation networks.
The complete solution in one modem is the Snapdragon X55 Modem that was announced at MWC this year and will debut in the flagship Snapdragon 800 Series.
The MediaTek 5G SOC contains the Helio M70 5G Modem, a 5G multi-mode modem. It supports both SA 5G and NSA Sub-6 GHz networks.
It also supports legacy generation networks, so you need to add an additional LTE modem similar to other solutions offered by Qualcomm and Exynos.
With one modem integrated to provide all types of networks, SOC will be more energy-efficient than two different modem solutions.
MediaTek Helio M70 5G Modem does not support mmWave 5G networks. American airlines have relied on mmWave and other global carriers are focusing on sub-5GHz networks.
MediaTek 5G SOC
For download speed, the Helio M70 5G supports download speeds of up to 4.7 Gbps and upload speed of up to 2.5 Gbps. Not only MediaTek 5G SOC is 5G SOC; it has other distinct features of high-end SOC.
It is built on TSFC's Finnet 7nm. Another interesting part of MediaTek 5G SOC is the CPU and GPU.
This is the first announcement about SOC getting the latest ARM Cortex-A77 CPU and GPI Mali G77.
MediaTek has not confirmed the basic configuration of the CPU yet but will undoubtedly perform better. The ARM Cortex-A77 CPU was announced for a few days in the back at Computex 2019.
MediaTek 5G SOC
With regard to AI capabilities, MediaTek 5G SOC has a completely new AI processing unit. APU 3.0 supports advanced AI applications such as imaging.
More details on this issue will be revealed in the coming weeks. In the Optics section, MediaTek 5G SOC will support a single camera sensor of up to 80 megapixels. It also supports video decoding / decoding at 4K at 60FPS.
In terms of availability, SOC will be ready to sample customers in Q3. 2019. Business devices supported by MediaTek 5G SOC will be a reality in the first quarter. 2020.
