Samsung may work on a new phone with a curved screen

Samsung's Galaxy fold is far from being the company's success. Early review units revealed many problems on the folding phone screen, and Samsung had no choice but to delay the launch of the Galaxy Fold around the world.

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF NEW GALAXY FOLD PHONE FAILURE

But this does not mean that Samsung will not make more folding phones in the future, or other types of smartphones

The latest discovery gives us more details about the new design that Samsung may develop: a new phone with a folded screen that does not fold.

The Dutch blog LetsGoDigital, which often reveals smart phone patents from some of the biggest sellers there, is showing up again. This time, the blog found a patent that was first introduced in 2016 but was given to Samsung just a few days ago.

Because you will see in these images, we look at a device featuring up to three usable screens, including a home screen in the foreground, a secondary screen at the back, and a screen in the side for notifications:

The purpose of a multi-screen phone such as the new phone shown in these images is to allow Samsung to remove the camera from the front of the phone and increase the size of the home screen.

If this sounds familiar, it is because some Chinese smartphone vendors have already created such devices.

The crucial difference between the Samsung concept and those phones is that Samsung is also turning the top edge of the phone into a screen.

Thus, the screen will wrap around the top side, facing forward from the back of the phone.

The unit will sit one camera on its back, and will work for both normal photos and selfies.

The patent also lists other details about phones that display "multi-plan screens" such as the ability to use the two monitors for real-time translation.

Also, front and back screens can be turned on when taking photos, so people can see instant previews of the shots. Finally, the Edge screen will display notifications from applications.

What's interesting is that you'll be able to activate the screen by simply moving your hands over it.

Alternatively, you can use a stylus to activate one of the largest displays.

However, Samsung's smartphone patent does not guarantee Samsung Galaxy-branded phones that look like the concepts described here.

After all, technology companies record countless patents every year, not all innovations eventually make commercial products.
