top 10 great apps from Android phone

You just canceled a new Android phone, signed in, wrote hundreds of passwords, downloaded all major social apps, and synced everything you need to sync.

Now it's time to fill your phone with everything else: apps to read, to get things done, and to enjoy.

You may have some ideas for your own, but we have a bunch of suggestions too.

Here are 10 great apps from Android that definitely deserve installation.

We've put together our favorite apps, games and gadgets. Find our choices for iPhones, PC and Mac; our favorite games for iOS and Android devices, and our best choices for the PS4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.

10- Pocket cast

Although Android eventually has its own podcast app, you may want to check out a very good third-party option: Pocket Casts, owned by NPR and three other public radio producers this year.

It has improved significantly since then, with a great redesign coming in last month which provides some of the much needed features.

9- Dark Sky

Dark Sky
There is no dark hit the sky when it comes to predicting rain.
Even if you're part of another weather application
(or if you're using a built-in weather gadget like Pixel 3), you'll have to pay $ 2.99 a year to Dark Sky to get its accurate forecasts as it starts and stops.

Available for free. $ 2.99 for the premium version

8- 1PASSWORD / LASTPASS

1PASSWORD / LASTPASS
Password managers can be helpful in setting up and getting used to. But once you use one, you will never want to go back - it's a simple (relative) way to make sure you have a secure and unique password for each website.

At this time, only a fingerprint is required to retrieve this password to any application you are signing in to.

My choices of last year have not changed: I personally use 1Password, which is definitely worth its low monthly fee, but if you want a free option, LastPass is an excellent option.

7- VSCO

VSCO
VSCO
Designers of VSCO love changing their application interface in amazing ways on a regular basis.

However, I can not stop going back - the app has the best absolute image filters there, allowing you to apply a wide range of movie-like effects and make a number of other adjustments before sending your photos to Instagram.

I just hope they stop changing the interface every three days.

Messages

This is about a feature in the built-in text messaging application from Google, not the app itself.

If you use messages, you can synchronize your texts with a nearby computer and respond from the keyboard.

It's not the same as Apple's iMessage sync from iPhone to Mac, but it's better than nothing.

It's certainly much easier to handle applications like Push Bullet, which are supposed to sync all of your notifications but tend to work sporadically.

5- Clue

Messages

Clue is one of the best time tracking applications, with a very simple interface that makes it easy to visualize the course, track bleeding, use pills and much more.

The application tries to be comprehensive for everyone who swims, and the company behind it promise not to sell your health data (although sometimes it shares anonymous data sets with researchers).

4- Audio Recorder

Audio Recorder

Here's another app missing from Android: Something to record Audio memos or any other sound you need to capture.

My favorite is this direct application from Sony which is mostly just a big red registry button and list your files.

Just watch out: you have the option to record really high-quality formats that deal with tons of space - the "average" quality setting is perfectly fine.

3- ALTO’S ODYSSEY

ALTO’S ODYSSEY
The Alto Odyssey game is a must-have game, especially if your new phone has an edge-to-edge display - its simple, opaque graphics are stunning in widescreen scrolling. The game is a lot of fun as well.

It's never hard to be frustrating, and it always moves fast enough to keep you busy.

Odyssey is available from Alto for free on Android, but I recommend paying a few dollars to remove accidental pop-up ads.

2- Files from GOOGLE

Files from GOOGLE
For any reason, Google Files is currently a stand-alone application that should be downloaded from the Play Store, but a good file manager so I'm not surprised if you finally replace the built-in Android app.

This application makes searching your files much easier than it comes preinstalled.

It's a great way to find junk content that's also space on your phone.

I see articles throughout the day at work that I want to read but I really do not have time for that.

Pocket PC is my solution.
Application pairs with a desktop browser extension let you save articles for reading (or listening to) later.

Any time you wait in line or sit on the couch with nothing to do, your pocket list will definitely have something worth checking out.
