Early Christmas gift for S9 owners

In just the right time for holidays, Samsung began releasing the Android Pie for the Galaxy S9.

SamMobile was the first to notice the German release, while other Twitter users have seen a refresh update becoming available in the Netherlands and Slovakia as well.

In addition to updates made by Google, the Android Pie on the S9 also incorporates the Samsung One One user interface, a new user experience designed to make applications easier to use on larger phones, among other enhancements.

Although this latest update has reached Samsung devices much faster than previous versions of Android, the South Korean company is still lagging behind the operating system such as Nokia, OnePlus and even HTC with its update schedule.

Google earlier tried to speed up adoption of new versions of Android with Project Treble, but in early 2017, only 21.5% of Android devices running Android Oreo or later were in late October this year.

Samsung is getting faster in releasing Android updates.

The Galaxy S8 owners had to wait seven months after the original release of Oreo before they were made available to their devices, while Android Nougat took at least five months to reach the Galaxy S7.

At its annual developer conference, Samsung said it expects to issue the Pie version in January 2019, when we expect the full deployment of the new program.
