Microsoft plans to launch new Webcams
in 2019 for Windows 10 and Xbox One
The Kinect feature may be similar to Xbox One

Thurrott reports that two new webcams are on the way, with one design to bring Windows Hello Face recognition to any Windows 10 computer

The other will work with the Xbox One and reinstate Kinect, which allows users to automatically sign in by moving in front of the camera

This should work with multiple accounts and family members.

Microsoft president Panos Panay earlier this year hinted in an interview with a newspaper that the company was considering launching branded webcams

"Look at the camera on the Surface Hub 2, note that it's a USB-based camera, and the idea that we can bring a high-resolution camera to an experience, maybe you can guess that will happen," Panay hinted in October.

Microsoft is now planning to issue Surface Hub 2S in 2019, with upgradeable processor cartridges.

If the company issues a USB-C Surface Hub 2 camera separately, this camera can work on any Windows 10 computer.

Microsoft has not yet launched its Windows Hello camera, and PC users (especially companies) Rely on alternatives from Creative, Razer and Logitech to bring face recognition to desktop computers.
