Arlo today announced that it is adding more artificial intelligence detection features to the Arlo Smart subscription service for home security cameras

The company will launch features later this year that allow its Arlo cameras to identify pets, vehicles and packages.

Arlo Smart uses computer vision technology to alert users to trigger camera sensors on the camera to start recording.

It's a subscription service that starts at $ 2.99 per month and offers a person detection and cloud activity zones, which allow users to select specific areas to filter so that the camera is not triggered by background activity such as trees swaying in the wind.

It also sends users rich notifications of what cameras record, which can be seen from the phone lock screen.

There is also the Arlo Smart Premiere plan, starting at $ 9.99 a month, which adds support for up to 10 Arlo cameras, and provides security snapshots on the cloud for 30 consecutive days.

Smart Premier also adds E911 connectivity, which allows you to call 911 directly from the application to connect you to your nearest home distributors, no matter where you are.

Arlo claims that these features are the first in the industry, but the Smart House's Netatmo's Presence camera has been detecting human, pets and vehicles since 2016.

It does not charge subscription fees, but does not come with Arlo's E911 call capabilities.
