The Live albums feature includes a Google Photos album with a limit of 10,000 photos, discovered to users in Google Communities, and monitored by Android Police.

Live albums were introduced earlier this month as a way for users to automatically add photos of a pet or selected person to a custom album.

This lets you get a single album to stare at your dog or gentle partner without having to scroll through endless other endless pictures.

Once you click 10,000 photos, you'll see a warning "Album paused", indicating that you can not add any other photos.

This means that all the additional photos you take from your loved ones will not be added to the album, and will remain stuck in its old-fashioned view: through all images.

If your album is full of dots and dimly lit images, Google is not smart enough to clean extensions for you, so you'll need to manually delete those photos yourself.

So far, users have been commenting on the picture; Google has been silent.

We've contacted Google to find out why the limit is enforced and whether it can be increased.
